Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of How Models Learn (“we”) for How Models Learn: the website, its courses and the Pro subscription. By creating an account or using How Models Learn you accept them and our Privacy Policy.

2. Your account

• You must be 16 or older, or the age of digital consent where you live if higher.
• Use an email address you control, keep your password private, and keep your Google account secure if you sign in with it. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
• One account per person. Don’t share or sell access to it.
• If you think someone else has accessed your account, sign out all devices from your account page and tell us at hello@howmodelslearn.com.

3. Courses and Pro

The first module of every course is free. Pro unlocks every lesson in every course while your subscription is active, including courses added later. We add, update and may retire lessons and courses, and don’t promise any particular one stays available or unchanged.

4. Subscriptions and billing

• Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record and reseller. Dodo Payments charges you, handles sales tax or VAT, and its own buyer terms also apply.
• Pro is billed monthly or yearly in advance, at the price shown at checkout, and renews automatically until you cancel.
• Cancel any time with Manage subscription on your account page. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for and aren’t charged again.
• A price change applies from your next renewal, and we’ll tell you by email before it does.
• If a renewal payment fails, Pro continues for 3 days while payment is retried, then ends.

5. No refunds

All payments are final and non-refundable, in full or in part, including for unused time, a renewal you didn’t cancel in time, or a change of plan. Try a free module before you buy.

Pro starts as soon as payment succeeds. Before checkout you must confirm that you want access to start immediately and that you therefore lose any statutory right to cancel for a refund (such as the 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content in the EU and UK). Checkout doesn’t proceed without that confirmation, and we record it.

This doesn’t affect rights you have by law that can’t be excluded, for example if the service is faulty or not as described. Contact hello@howmodelslearn.com if you think that applies.

We may suspend an account while a payment it made is disputed with a bank or card issuer.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t:

• copy, scrape, resell or republish lessons, quizzes, interactives or their data in bulk;
• share Pro content with people who haven’t paid for it;
• get around the paywall, rate limits or security, or disrupt the service;
• create accounts or load the site with automated tools;
• send abusive, unlawful or spam content, including through “Report a mistake”.

7. Content and ownership

The lessons, interactives, design, and the How Models Learn name and mascot belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own learning and quote short parts with credit.

Datasets and model outputs used in lessons belong to their creators and are used under the licences listed in each lesson’s sources.

Feedback and mistake reports you send may be used to improve How Models Learn, without payment to you.

8. Educational content

We aim for every lesson to be accurate and every number traceable to its source, and we correct reported mistakes. How Models Learn is general education, not professional, technical, medical, legal or financial advice.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account page, after cancelling any active subscription. What we keep afterwards is set out in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that the law requires us to close. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you why first. If we shut How Models Learn down, we’ll give you notice.

10. Warranties and liability

How Models Learn is provided “as is”, without any promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of data, profit or opportunity, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Governing law

The laws of the country where the operator is based govern these terms. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live and can bring a claim there.

12. Changes

We’ll tell you by email or on the site before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use How Models Learn after that means you accept the new terms; otherwise you can cancel and delete your account.
